"Unbroken," Universal Pictures' larger-than-life, though definitely true, story about Louis Zamperini, an Olympian and hero of WWII, has had an incredibly strong performance in theaters over the four day Christmas weekend, doubling estimates from some critics.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The movie grossed about $15.6 million on its Christmas Day release, and brought in another $47.3 million so far, making it the second highest grossing film out there, behind "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" which has earned about $54.5 million.

However, the film may only cover so much of Zamperini's incredible life story; in fact, the end of the war did not signal the end of Zamperini's struggles.
To acknowledge this, and to inspire and help others, Universal Pictures has released a separate seven-minute video documentary. The video details Zamperini's struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder and alcoholism, and includes the Billy Graham revival meeting in 1949, which made him whole again, gave him the strength and faith in God to overcome his demons and forgive his captors.
Just like the film itself, this documentary must be seen. It is a profound part of an already profound film, which does its best to detail a very profound life.
