Group of kind-hearted people undergo a mission to rescue dog from island

Stranded on a small island on a Nisava River in Serbia, a helpless dog hides in dead bushes accepting his fate. A group of caring friends notice the dog, and set up a mission to rescue the abandoned dog.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "On my way home I met a few of my friends and they told me there was a small dog stranded," explained Zoran Pavlovic, who was able to capture the amazing turn of events on camera. "So we went there to try to help but there was little we could do without some gear and tools."

Running out of options and time, the group of friends began calling around to various institutions and people they knew, hoping someone would be able to help.

Spread God's word with the gift of a Bible

"Only Mr. Pesic came to the rescue. Without too much thinking, he did what he did," said Pavlovic to Telegraph.

Sasha Pesic helps out at Naissus PAWark animal shelter; more than 400 rescue dogs are taken care of at the shelter.

Pesic was the first to immediately jump down from the bridge. Pulling his sleeves up, he prepared to cross into the water in order to reach the island.

A calm, inviting lost dog ran to Pesic, finally saved.

However, Pesic was faced with another challenge. How would they all make it back to the top of the bridge?

There's still time! Take care of your health now.

With the help from the young boys who found the dog, Pesic and the dog made it safely and reunited as "faith is restored in humanity."

The boys didn't have to report the stranded dog, and Pesic did not have to jump down from a bridge to rescue a strange dog, but he did. This is proof that there are still kind people around the world.
