Destined by fate: New Jersey couple discover something incredible in a home video

Jourdan and Ryan Spencer from New Jersey were shocked to see that they crossed each other's path 16 years before they officially met. Watching a home video, taken during Jourdan's family trip to Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, they saw someone familiar appear on the screen: Ryan.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) -  It was July 1988, her mother Janice and sister Jillian were waiting for Jourdan, then 10-years-old, to return from the water slide, when 13-year-old Ryan was seen walking, captured on the screen frame, wearing glasses.

Ryan explained he was kind of joking, saying the kid looked like him. They decided to rewind the video over and over until they sat in disbelief that it was, in fact, Ryan. 

However, telling other people about the phenomenon and getting them to believe it was not easy because they could not exactly prove it; although they confirmed Ryan's family had also been on a trip to the Sesame Place before. The husband and wife were able to confirm it is indeed Ryan, based on his photographs during 1988. 

"It just matched up with the time, how old I was, the big glasses, the hair. You can just tell it's
me," said Ryan.

The families were also in awe of the coincidence after they had watched the video. 

The couple has been married since 2007, now claiming they were destined for each other. This was not the first time the two had been in one place at the same time before they really met. Jourdan said that her first concert was a Rolling Stones' one in 1989; Ryan was also there.

After noting so many thrilling occurrences, the couple believes they were meant to meet each other. 

"Life is more than just randomness," said Ryan believing there is always a reason for everything. Jourdan explained she believes that everyone we meet and cross our paths with has a purpose in our lives.

The couple officially met each other during a blind date back in 2004;  they actually lived only 45 minutes away from each other the whole time. 

According to the couple, they were invited by the Sesame Place to go back this summer, after they heard their amazing story. They have three children, Mabel, 5 months, Max, 3, and Sophie, 6, who now thinks her parents are famous.
