LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Speculation over the future of the team has run wild following the death of its founder and longtime owner Ralph Wilson on March 25. Wilson did not leave the team to anyone, and the trust that holds the franchise is expected to sell it to the highest bidder within two years.

Former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, who is currently fighting a resurgent case of squamons cell carcinoma, said back in 2010 that he would keep the Bills in Buffalo. "I do have people in line that will want to purchase the team and keep it in western New York because I do not entertain any offers from anybody looking to move the Buffalo Bills from western New York," said Kelly.

St. Sebastian, patron saint of footballers.

Trump seems to agree with this sentiment and has said that if he did help purchase the franchise, he would wish for it to remain in Buffalo. "If it were me I'd keep the team in Buffalo," he said. "I think it's something that is really vital to the area. .It would be catastrophic, in my opinion, if Buffalo lost the Buffalo Bills."

If Trump does indeed purchase the franchise, it will not be the first time he has owned a professional sports team. In 1984 Trump owned the New Jersey Generals, a football team that belonged in the fledgling United States Football League, a league a few notches about most second tier professional leagues which played in the spring and summer, which operated from 1983-85.

Trump was criticized over his management of the team, and was even blamed for the collapse of the league by the league's chief filmmaker Mike Tollin.
